Support for IE 8, 9, and 10 Ends Jan. 2016
January 12, 2016, marks the end of Microsoft’s support for Internet Explorer 8, 9, or Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 7 SP1. Microsoft’s decision to end support for these browsers leaves Elead no choice but to follow Microsoft’s decision. Elead will only offer technical support to the following browser-operating system combinations:
- IE9 only on Windows Vista
- IE10 only on Windows Server 2012
- IE11 on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1
Support for IE7 and IE8 will be dropped entirely, no matter what Operating System (OS) is used. The browsers can still be used, however due to the lack of automatic security updates, using the unsupported browsers can expose your servers to harmful viruses, spyware, and malicious software.
At Elead, the security of our servers and client data are of top priority. Therefore, we have no choice but to end our support along with Microsoft of IE7 and IE8. Google Chrome can be used as an alternative until you can make the switch to a more current Windows-based browser.
